Til, the Earless Bunny Killed by a Cameraman – Tragic News

Did you hear about Til, the earless baby bunny in Germany? Mama and I shed tears when we read about him.

Til was an extremely rare (and adorable cute) earless bunny. He was going to become the next animal celebrity, but a careless TV cameraman ended his life. He was only 17 days old – not even a month old – when a German cameraman stepped backwards and accidentally stepped on him, killing him instantly.

Til was the cuttest baby bunny. Sniffs.

The German cameraman told newspaper reporters that he hadn’t seen the tiny bunny, who had buried himself in hay. The director of the zoo in Germany, where Til was born, said the baby bunny died immediately, so the poor earless bunny did not suffer any pain.

Til was born with a genetic defect that left him without ears. His other five siblings were born normal.

The zoo froze little Til’s body, while they decide whether they will have him stuffed.

This is What Happens When You Don’t Love a Dog

Mama and I will never understand why there are evil people in the world that would abandon and neglect dogs, especially Shih Tzu.

The Shih Tzu breed is supposed to be loved and cherished. We are bred to be lap dogs, to warm the feet of Chinese royalty. We are beautiful, majestic, and we love our humans above all others. How could anyone not love us?

How could anyone neglect a Shih Tzu?

This is what happens with a Shih Tzu is abandoned. They end up looking this this.

I cannot imagine how uncomfortable this Shih Tzu feels. His fur is hardened, and he must feel like he is mummified. It is tragic. Although Mama and I couldn’t find any additional information on this Shih Tzu, we gather that he was abandoned by his owner and left to rot.

Fortunately, some kind-hearted people saved up and got him groomed. He is a beautiful Shih Tzu underneath. Continue reading “This is What Happens When You Don’t Love a Dog”….→

Mason, the Miracle Tornado Dog

With all the tornadoes that have hit this weekend across the Southern United States, where I lived, I thought everyone deserves to hear a feel-good dog story.

This story is from 2011, but it’s still an amazing dog story.

The story of true, unconditional love that only a dog can give his family. Of how an amazing dog crawled on two broken legs . . . home to be with his family.

In case you’re lazy and don’t feel like reading …

Last year, devastating tornadoes destroyed several southern states – Alabama was one of them. In fact, Mama actually had to drive through the heart of a storm, saw the funnel cloud, and battled driving over flooded streets, and heavy rain … just to get home to me. You can read abut it about last year’s tornado: The Shih Tzu Puppy Who Survived a Tornado.

While my family was safe and sound during last year’s tornadoes, Mason – a one-year-old terrier mix from North Smithfield, Alabama (near Birmingham) – was in danger.

He was hanging out in his family’s garage when the tornadoes hit.

The tornado blasted through the garage and carried Mason away. We don’t know how far he had to travel, but when he landed, he had two broken legs.

Dozens of people died from that twister. Mason’s home was destroyed, but his family was grateful to be alive. They were heartbroken that their sweet dog had disappeared. After combing every nook and cranny of their neighborhood, they gave up hope that their dog was still alive.

Two weeks after the tornado hit, Mason’s family went to their house to try to salvage some personal belongings. And to their amazement, Mason was waiting for them by the front poor.
