In honor of National Cat Day, we wanted to share some gorgeous photos of Clementine our Calico kitty. She is as sweet as can be, loves to jump over me when I’m running around, chasing my toys. She hides in corners to try to chase after me when I’m not looking … and when I paw at her to play with me, she just runs away.

So is the nature of cats, Mama says. They only want to play when they want to play. And they only want cuddles and petting on their own schedule, not yours.

Mama and I would like for you to all know that we do still love our Clementine, my calico cat sister. Even though she doesn’t get as much face time as me – since this is my blog, after all. So Mama has been feeling guilty that she doesn’t take as many photos of Clementine as she does me. Tonight, we fixed this problem. Mom snapped lots of lovely shots of my sister doing what she does best – lounging around.

Isn’t she so pretty?

We especially love her cat-stache, just next to her nose. A baby freckle!

Beautiful Calico Cat

I don’t remember if I told you the story of Clementine’s Gotcha Day, but we adopted her two years ago, in December of 2012. My Auntie found her on the streets, so underweight that we thought she was a kitten at first. But when we took her to the vet, he said that she was over a year old (possibly, because it’s hard to tell with cats) and that she was a full grown adult.

Auntie thought she would adopt her, and Mama was so against the idea of having another cat – since she had me, and that was enough, but then when Auntie decided that she couldn’t keep her and would take her to the pound, Mom said NO. Because the likelihood of an adult cat getting adopted at the pound is slim to none. Mom couldn’t bear the thought of this sweet kitty – who is very cuddly and requires so much attention – getting euthanized. So we decided to make her part of our family.

We love our Clementine and couldn’t live without her.

Clementine is the sweetest kitty sister a girl could have. We love wrestling with each other (I think she’s a dog in a cat’s body), and we do occasionally enjoy snuggling. We are both attention hogs, so we sometimes fight. I always win though, and Clementine just runs away.

Clemmie is always trying to hog Mama’s lap. She is a huge snuggler and loves purring and purring. She needs attention all the time. She is one of the neediest cats Mom has ever had. She’s like a dog but in a cat’s body. She is also funny in that she loves to wait for us by the front door when I go out for my walks. She’s wonderful.

As much as I love Clemmie, I still like my attention. But I am too tired tonight. Good night! Until next time. Love, Gracie xoxo

Mama has been traveling almost every other weekend for the past month, and I’ve been staying at my Auntie’s house when she’s away. Auntie is the best babysitter (even agrees to babysit me at the last moment! Mom and I are so grateful!), and I even get two of the cutest cousins to play with . . . or chase.

Meet Chaucer, the beautiful Aru Eclectus parrot, and Mr. Bubbles, a rose breasted cockatoo. They have a blog, too, if you wanna keep up with their adventures – the Flying Chaucer.

Mr. Bubbles, Cockatoo and Chaucer, Parrot

Chaucer (the green one) and I get along just fine. But Mr. Bubbles is another story. He screamed every time I entered the room when I first came to stay with Auntie. They had to put him in another room, because I scared him too much. He must have had a bad experience with dogs, but I’m such a cute and little dog, why would he be scared of me?

Eventually, he got used to me, though, so we didn’t have any more problems. We could be in the same room. I ignored him mostly and just played with my toys.

They are beautiful birds, aren’t they?

Mama tells me that humans do this weird thing called “dieting” around the New Year. Mama tells me that humans do this weird thing called “dieting” around the New Year. Apparently, you humans eat way too much food during the holidays, gain weight, and then starting in January, you make resolutions to lose the weight … (Though I hear the rumor is most of you forget about these so-called resolutions come the spring).

I don’t understand you humans. I do not like low-fat healthy food. Ever. I hate it, and yes, though Mama feeds me very good food for my meals, I still think your human food tastes better … especially bacon. I love bacon and anything fattening and bad for me. Mmm, bacon!

So, Mama and I found these Fat Cat pictures on Pinterest, and wanted to share them with you. Maybe they will inspire you dieting humans to stick to your diet. You don’t want to end up as fat as these kittens.

We are not sure how it is possible for cats to get so fat, but apparently, their humans over-indulge them. They are pretty chunky, but oh so cute! Enjoy!

I’m a big snowball! Watch me pounce!

The Vet and I are friends. I’m bigger than a human baby!

Meet Noel, the cutest little Morkie from Tokyo. The Japanese always have the cutest style and their doggies are no different. How adorable is Noel’s sweet yellow top? As a fashionista, I am jealous at how cute she is.

At first, I didn’t know what kind of dog Noel is. She almost looked like a baby schnauzer, due to her coloring, but I realized her snout was too short. And then after doing some online research, I found out she is a Morkie.

Morkies are a “designer dog,” which means they are a cross of two purebred dogs. Morkies are a beautiful mix of Yorkie and Maltese. They are so cute!
